What AgeVerif sees, and what we see
Your ID or selfie stays with AgeVerif. We only learn whether you passed.
What AgeVerif sees
AgeVerif runs the age check, in a window on our site. Depending on the method you choose, it sees what that method needs: for example, a selfie to estimate your age, or a photo of an ID document. AgeVerif handles that under its own privacy policy, which it shows before you start.
What we see
We receive only the result. We keep a record that you passed, with:
- the date;
- the method you used (for example, "selfie" or "ID");
- your country, or US state.
We never receive or keep your ID document, your selfie, your date of birth or your name from the check. It can't be linked to anything you do on Sinfully, except to record that your account passed.
Why we keep a record
So you don't need to repeat the check every time, and so we can show regulators that we checked, as the law requires.
If the check doesn't work
- Make sure your browser allows pop-ups and camera access for the check.
- Try another method, such as ID instead of a selfie.
- Good lighting and no glasses or hat help a selfie estimate.
- Still stuck? Email [email protected] and tell us which method you tried. We can't pass you ourselves, but we can help work out what's wrong.
More about how we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy.
