# Texts and emails from your companion

> How notifications work, how often they come, and how to turn them off.

## Texts from your companion

On **Ultimate**, a companion you've been chatting with can text you first while you're away: a follow-up on something you told her, or just to say she's thinking of you. They arrive as notifications on your phone or computer. On other plans, companions don't text first.

- **Off until you turn them on.** Go to **Settings**, then **Notifications**, and switch on **Texts from companions**. Your browser will ask for permission.
- **Not too often.** At most one text a day and three a week, across all your companions, and only during the day where you are. If you don't reply to two in a row, she stops until you're back.
- **Discreet on your lock screen.** Notifications never show anything explicit: you'll see "Sent you a message". Turn off **Show previews** to see only "New message".
- **On iPhone and iPad**, notifications only work after you add Sinfully to your Home Screen: tap the Share button in Safari, then **Add to Home Screen**.

Turn texts off at any time in the same place, or in your browser or phone settings.

## Emails

We send two kinds of email:

- **Account and billing emails**, such as receipts, password resets, a video that's ready, or a reminder that your plan is ending. These always go to your verified email address.
- **Updates and offers**, such as when you've used your free messages or a companion misses you. These are only sent if you agree to them, at most one a day and three a week. Use the **Unsubscribe** link in any of them, or change your choice in **Settings**, then **Notifications**.
